Our bodies are aging, we may have pain, wrinkles, feel sluggish. And I don’t know about you, but a lot of people I know who aren’t even close to hitting their 40s are feeling it. It seems the effects of aging are happening faster and faster in our world today. Be it our food choices, environment, genetics, we just don’t feel like we did in our 20s.
What if we could reverse the effects of aging on our bodies? Science and medicine have come a long way, there are injections, IV nutrients, and stem cells. Stem cells have been shown to help slow down everything from Alzheimer to osteoporosis. I took a look at how stem cells could help our aging bodies and skin to answer the question: Stem cell therapy does it work?
What Are Stem Cells?
Stem cells are cells within the human body that can replicate into many types of cells in the body to help repair damage. There are two main types, embryonic, which are stem cells found in a human ( or animal) embryo. Adult stem cells are found in an adult in the fat stores and throughout blood, tissue and organs.
Stem cells are used in medicine to help a multitude of issues, by directing the cells to certain areas of the body, they offer a renewable source of replacement cells and tissue that treat many types of diseases, including, but not limited to, burns, spinal cord injury, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Now they have found uses for stem cell therapy for anti aging to look younger and combat signs of aging in our skin.
Stem Cell Therapy For Aging Skin
Now that we have an idea of what stem cells are, it makes sense that they could regenerate cells of our skin to help us look and feel younger. Over time, the cells of the body die, and it takes longer for them to regenerate. Stem cell therapy is the ultimate anti aging process, using our bodies own stem cells, they’re transplanted right where we need them.
These treatments replenish the body with a fresh supply of concentrated stem cells to repair and rejuvenate all organs, including our skin which is where a lot of us first notice the effects of aging. Plastic surgery is different due to the fact it takes care of surface issues and not the root cause.
Stem cells go beyond by refreshing, rejuvenating, repairing on a cellular level. This in turn restores energy levels and age related damage to the face, organs, and the body. Anti aging therapy improves overall health, function, and strength of cells and organs making them more youthful, stronger, and robust. There have been some amazing results seen in all age groups and ethnicities.
Stem Cell Procedure
There are FDA guidelines treatment centers have to follow. The stem cells have to be harvested from the individual, and then delivered back into the body as quickly as possible. Getting started, the patient is evaluated by a stem cell therapy professional and key areas of concern are discussed.
After examination, the necessary treatment will be explained. The adipose tissue ( fat stores) is harvested from the body and put through centrifugation, which basically separates the stem cells from the tissue, making the cells more concentrated. The remaining serum, is injected into the specific area right away and in some cases they use an ultrasound to guide to a specific area of the body.
The whole process takes a few hours and is done in an outpatient setting with no downtime. As far as pain, the only pain may be felt at the harvesting site and injection site, and will be minimal. There is no need for pain medication, and patients can resume regular activity right away.
Many people do well with one time injection, but others may need a few more in about a years time. The cost of the procedure for anti aging is not exactly cheap, nor is it covered by most insurance. Average cost I found to be around $700, but I’m sure this will be changing.
Anti Aging Results
Stem cell therapy is possibly the most advanced approach to slowing the aging process and in some cases reversing the damage caused by aging. This therapy helps to strengthen the remaining cells and encourage healthy cell growth. Men and women who have undergone this procedure have reported amazing results:
- Healthy Weight
- Greater muscle tone
- Improved mood, positive outlook in general
- Libido boost, sexual attraction
- Joint pain relief, stiffness and achiness
- Improved energy and motivation
- Even skin tone, youthful appearance, fewer wrinkles and age spots
- Reduced fatigue
Although the FDA hasn’t issued a blanket approval on all types of stem cell treatments, they are starting to recognize them as a helpful medical treatment. There are many studies happening all over the world on how stem cell therapy helps to reduce many diseases that happen due to aging. It is expensive, but if it helps us to reduce the damage due to age related degeneration, hopefully it can someday be covered by insurance.
Things are moving fast so the outlook is positive.According to many reviews I have read, stem cell therapy works for back issues, knees, anti aging skin care and more. There are also stem cell supplements that can improve the quality of the stem cells you already have. Here is a great article I found on that.
My hope is someday this procedure will be readily available to all who need it. I found a reputable company here called StemLight, which can give you a lot of info if you’re looking into stem cell therapy. Have you had stem cell treatment? If you have any comments or questions I welcome them as always, and thanks for reading!
